The past few weeks I have been asking God for simplicity. Where is the simplicity amongst missions, bible classes, spiritual gifting, evangelism and much more? Ironically, I ended up at the foot of the cross. The simplicity is JESUS. Jesus. Just His name brings tears of joy to my eyes. Jesus. Jesus, whipped, beaten and bruised for me. Jesus, who took my flesh and sin to the cross one time. Jesus, who gave me freedom and Jesus who loves me. Jesus who forgave me and Jesus who redeemed me. That day Jesus was taken to the cross, I was with Him. I died a mystical death with Him, and am no longer bound by sin. Because of Jesus, I am free to live. Because of Jesus I am holy and in perfect union with the Father. Sin was the only thing that separated me from my Father in heaven, and now it is gone. Completely obliterated. Destroyed. Nothing separates me anymore. I no longer worry or am anxious about the things that I was before. I am free from fear, pride and death. Heaven started the moment I said yes. And it’s all because of one man. Jesus Christ. My beloved. My savior. My prince. My healer. My best friend. Jesus. Jesus. His name flows off my tongue like sweet honey. Jesus. Source of endless butterflies in my tummy. Jesus. Abundant in life. Abundant in love. Abundant in grace. Abundant in laughter and abundant in joy.
Thank you God, that you live in me. Take my life and make it yours. Let my thoughts be yours. Let my love be yours. Let my life be yours. Thank you for romancing me. Thank you for allowing me to fall deeply and madly in love with you. Thank you for my upbringing. Let my life be a living testimony of Jesus. Let me be a walking Jesus in the midst of darkness and slavery. Let me bring freedom and identity through your son Jesus. Let my love be genuine and life-giving. Let my heart rest on you for encouragement. Let my joy be solely rested on the life of your son. Let me be completely satisfied in only You. Let my faith rest on the cross and my laughter be an overflow of an intoxicating love. An intoxicating love that captivates my heart every moment of each day. Let me be in complete wonder of the cross everyday. Let me walk in humility, knowing my place in the kingdom. Let me enjoy every second of this beautiful life as your daughter, not a worker. Thank you for the beauty of creation and let me see beauty everywhere I walk. Let me bring the genuine joy of the Lord to every divine encounter you create. Let me express creativity only in You, my love.
